What's Eresto Captain for?
It's a dedicated app for floor captains to take orders tableside. The captain walks up to the table with a tablet or phone, punches in the order, and it instantly flows to the kitchen via Edge or OMS. No more handwritten KOTs, no more running back to the counter.
Does Captain work standalone or does it need another product?
It works with Eresto Edge (Windows or Android). Captain is the order-entry side; Edge is the central POS that takes the order, prints KOTs, and handles billing.
What devices can Captain run on?
Android tablets, dedicated Android POS machines, and Android mobile phones — all three are fully supported. Windows is also available for restaurants that prefer it.
Can the same Captain account be used at multiple outlets?
Captain accounts are tied to a specific outlet by default. Multi-outlet operators can request roaming captain logins via Eresto support.
Why a separate Captain app instead of just using OMS?
Captains need a simpler, faster, touch-optimized UI focused on order entry only. Captain App strips out everything except what a captain needs — fewer mis-taps, faster service, cleaner data.
Can two captains work the same table?
Yes. Multi-captain handoffs are supported. The order log shows who added what, so if a guest disputes an item later, you know exactly who entered it.
